Guest guest
Hi DD - I'm sorry to hear you are having such a tough time of things. This RA is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Has your Rheumy mentioned MTX injections? I switched to that from the pills and the fatigue only lasts one day instead of three and no more stomach upset because it bypasses the digestive system altogether. I've not tried any of the other meds you mentioned, although I did look up the Imuran and the first side effect listed is nausea. Keep us posted. We care. Guest guest
I take 4 tablets now of the methotrexate and after taking it on Thursday morning ever since after about an hour I have felt nauseaus and fatigued. I just want to sleep and drink fluids. I have been on a flare up for almost a month now. I can't just walk into my RA Drs. office without having to pay $25 due to I owe a balance there. I have taken tylenol extra-strength since Friday and it helps along with the darvocet with pain. I see my RA Dr. next week am trying to wait until then to see him. Guest guest
Hey Irish, can I make a small recommendation? Try taking your mtx at night. You may still feel a slight headache & some nausea, but if taking at night, you will sleep through some of it. I was always told to take it at night & have been on it for about 22 years. Hope you get to feeling better. It sure isn't any fun. Guest guest
I sure hope it does. I should know better. But this last week, after I'd been off any RA drugs for about 3 weeks, I took my mtx in the morning thinking I'd get a jump on things b/c I would be taking Enbrel the next day, and boy did I pay for it. About 2 hours later, my head felt like a 2-ton tanker had run over it! And nausea also. Thank goodness, the doc gives me something to keep on hand for both. That's why I sorta interjected a recommendation. It was from experience =) Nae Re: [ ] Mystery > Thanks.
