Guest guest
First of all, thank you to everyone that welcomed me yesterday! Last night my DH and I had an argument of sorts which is not that out of the ordinary because we are both very different people- I'm a control freak and he's a "fly by the seat of his pants" kind of guy. Interestingly enough, the argument was about how I'm a control freak and I stress about everything and he things I need to relax more! No kidding! Later on I started to mentally rehash the conversation and of course concluded that my controlling nature is one of the many reasons why it is so hard for me to do ANYTHING intuitively. I'm a planner! I have "to do' lists! Does anyone else have these tendencies in ALL areas of their lives as I do? How do you give up that control of one area of your life (eating on a schedule and only certain foods at certain times with certain calories etc) and still maintain some control over other areas? Can it be done? Anyone have any insight on this?
Guest guest
Hi, I don`t think anything is wrong by being a planner. It is a positive thing! I wish I was more of a planner...However, if you (I mean you) feel that you are trying to overcontrol areas of your life, maybe you should ask yourself if you trust yourself in those areas...For me, I was trying to overcontrol food in my life because I have learned that trusting myself in the food area was very dangerous. I saw my mother diet her entire life, ruining her self-esteem and pleasure of eating, and I just did what she did for a long while. I am now re-learning (to eat what I want, when I want, and more importantly, to love myself the way I am and not reduce myself as a weight problem. It is very hard.
