Guest guest
, I try to take them sparingly but end up with at least 1 a day or perhaps I can skip a day - I try to live with the pain as much as possible. I try to keep busy. What I do is go to school because the things I used to do, I no longer can such as bowling, jogging, crochet, shopping at a mall (mostly on line now!) etc. My mind still works - it's a little slower because of the pain killers - but it still works. I went to disability services on campus and am able to get extra time on tests, etc. so it is a little easier and less pressure. I will be graduting this Spring with a Masters in Accountancy and hope to teach accounting at a college somewhere. I also am studying for the CPA. It is going very slow because of the slow memory function but I am going to keep trying. Anyway, to answer your question, I take Tramadol(Ultram). It works ok but I think I am getting used to it and may ask for something different but I am still thinking about that decision. One reason why I feel that I am getting used to the Tramadol is that recently, sometimes I have to take one or two Aleve with it in order to have an affect. I was on propo-n/apap (it's generic for somthing) but it wasn't working so my doc put me on the Tramadol). The Tramadol is ok and I don't have any withdrawal symptoms when I skip a day. I try to keep occupied but I understand how difficult it can be to ignore the pain. It is basically impossible to ignore and really difficult to live with. Sometimes I take a nice shower, read a book (just sitting still and not moving for a while) or just watch TV again not moving. However, when my inflamation was very high, there was basically nothing I could do except try to survive - any movement would be excruciating. There were many days of tears and prayers. My hubby was great and would massage my joints sometimes which would help but other than that, I was in bed most of the day. Orencia, for me, was a lifesaver. My prayers are with you, . Please keep the faith, maintain control of the painkillers (this is important - you are in control of when you take them), and remember that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
