Guest guest
Gosh i never thought about that! What a great idea! Especially when you are out grilling, etc!!! I'm filling a bottle today!!! Thanks for that tip! ltdavis_jrdavis@... From: jackietakesjuiceplus <jackie.cogburn@...> Subject: [ ] Re: OT- Mosquito bites Date: Friday, August 21, 2009, 4:00 PM I also keep a spray bottle filled with bargain brand listerine on the patio. I just spray it around on the brick & concrete when we are outside and it works great to keep them away! JC > > Hey to all! > I don't know how many of you guys live in areas that get mosquitos but they are HORRIBLE here in SC.......... .....BUT - and I know someone out there has probably heard this before, but my elderly neighbor told me a little secret in how not to get bit by these pesty little " skeeters " as I had been complaining that I get eaten alive every time I just step out to water flowers or go to the mailbox! He told me to take a papertowel and pour some listerene on it and rub all over your exposed body parts. You can use a dollar store brand - but once the liquid evaporates on your skin, the listerene smells disappears. And WHAM! It sure as heck as worked for me. I would have never believed it. I have tried all kinds of " home remedies " like rubbing your skin with a used dryer sheet, etc., etc. to no avail. If you have these nasty little pests in your area, try this! It's cheaper than " OFF " which always leaves a residue that you have to always shower off! > > Living and surviving in this HOT...HOT... Guest guest
After my episode with walking the dog and the mosquitoes attack, I am arming myself with cheap listerine. I have welts every where. Irish **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! Guest guest
Mosquitoes really love me. We had a wet spring and early summer, so we have an ample supply. Plus, we live in the woods, and I think that makes them worse. I can't go out of the house just to empty the trash without getting a few bites. I find that if I rub liquid soap on a mosquito bite soon after I'm bitten, it soon stops itching and doesn't amount to much. I don't know what ingredient in the liquid soap is responsible, and it seems that any brand will work for me. Guest guest
I buy the listerine or mouthwash that the Dollar stores sell for $1.50. It is ok for me being on a tight budget for now. It is just as effective as the brand name to me. It smells the same as listerine does. It did work warding off the mosquitoes also for me yesterday and today when I walked the dog outside. Guest guest
I was referring to generic brands equivalent to the brand name Listerine. I live in a smaller city so I priced out the Wal-mart vs. Dollar General brands and Wal-mart was the least expensive. If you live in a larger city, I'm sure you would have more choices. ltdavis_jrdavis@... Guest guest
I had not thought about checking the Dollar Tree - Dollar General is what is closest to me. I will try there next time I'm on that side of town. Thanks for the tip! ltdavis_jrdavis@...
