Guest guest
Well, I got my RA factor test back. It does not show that I have it. I just had a feeling that was going to happen. As a matter of fact, all of my blood tests were good except for vitamin D deficiency. The nurse called and told me to get to pharmacy for supplements. She said it was pretty low. I just have a hard time accepting that vitamin D deficiency would be causing me all this joint pain. It still comes and goes. My feet are better now, but last night my back started hurting again. The skin over my knuckles on my hands is red. Like a small area over each knuckle. And they seem to be permanently stiffer than they should be. My fingers are the one area that it never seems to leave. I also can't understand why this comes and goes from one joint area to another. My MRI shows a bulging disc in lumbar area. I can't believe I could not hurt myself and have that! I am really scared again. I just don't know what this could be if it is not RA. The only other symptom I have had besides joint problems is the red areas on my knuckles and the weird, numb " psoriasis " area on my ankle. That and fatigue. Have any of you had a vitamin D deficiency? Could that do all this to me? What should I do now that my tests are negative for RA but I still seem to have symptoms? I go back to the neurologist on the 29th. It is like I have to wait forever to get back in. Can't see a Rheumatologist without a referral! Guest guest
One thing my new Rheumy did was to draw blood for testing. They do this testing in-house and before I left the office, I had a script for 4 ea 50000mg caps to take, one each week. I don't know what effect it may have. I think it's a 'knee-jerk' reaction to a report that said vitamin D is the " test of the month " . I personally hate this approach to doctoring, whatever the latest fad is. You can still have RA or other discomfort that's making your joints inflame. The first thing to do is to step back, take a deep breath, and stop worrying until you have something certain about your medical problems. As has been discussed on this group, stress can certainly make your symptoms worse even if there's nothing there. Your mind is a powerful thing if you let it go out of control. Suzie, I'm not saying you're a hypochondriac, but that's an extreme that can be reached if you let it happen. Don't worry, be happy, as the song goes, you'll get better, I promise.
