Guest guest
Hi Marie, I just started methotrexate two weeks ago also. I get chest pains like you described and i believe it's due to the methotrexate althoug not caused by it. I got chest pains before starting MTX so i think it's something MTX exacerbates. I took MTX several months ago also, and my chest really hurt so i stopped it. I get the same symptoms as you do, but not in the back. I wondered whether it was pleurisy or something - same symptoms. It's some sort of inflammation of the chest lining. But it could also be chostocondritis which is not serious i dont think. Look it up on google. This time i lowered my dose of MTX and am working my way up slowly so as to avoid side effects. Drugs and me dont get along well I used some DMSO on my chest this time and it gets rid of the pain. If you want to know what it is, email me. I'm hoping i dont get this problem again, as i need to be on MTX to control my RA at the moment - how long have you had RA and how does it affect you? best wishes, Leonie (Australia)
