Guest guest
Hi, my name's . This is the first time i've ever joined a support group. I've been living with RA for about 10 years. Diagnosed at 26. Recently my Dr. changed up my meds, not that its the first time they've been changed, but it seems more serious to me now. She put me on Enbrel.... I guess I was fine, when it was bunch of pills, but injections? I just need some more information and people who have been there done that!!! Thanks for your time! Guest guest
Hi , My name is Steph. I am 31 and have had RA for almost 10 years too. I started methotrexate 2 weeks after I was dx'd and Enbrel a few months later. Enbrel didn't help, so I switched to Remicade and I have been in a medication induced remission ever since. Remicade has greatly reduced my pain, swelling and fatigue. When I started the Enbrel and Remicade in early 2000, very little was known about them but I was in so much pain that I saw no other choice besides taking that risk. Weighing the risks vs. benefits is a hard decision for people with chronic illnesses but you are in good company in this group. I'm sure many others will share their experiences. In the 9 years I have been on Remicade, I have had minimal bone erosion and I have not developed any secondary illnesses. I do not regret my choice. Take care, Steph in VA Hi, my name's . Guest guest
Hi Steph, I am so glad you've had that result with Remicade. That is my next option if Enbrel doesn't work for me. I tried Humira but that made me worse. I've read recently, that if 1 Biologic doesn't work then the chances of another working is diminishd. So thank you for that. Best wishes x From: DeNicola- <stephdenicola@...> Subject: [ ] Re:Hello, new to the group. Date: Sunday, 5 April, 2009, 4:36 PM Hi , My name is Steph.
