My PCP put me on two weeks of Prednisone while we wait for my May Rheumy appt.

It is a wonder drug for me and I feel half normal on it. I have gotten more

done in the last 10 days than in the last 6 months. LOL!! I know that in a few

days it will be all gone and he won't put me on again until two more weeks at

the earliest, if even then. I just wish he would let me stay on, but he is

concerned about all the " side effects " to Prednisone. Anyhow, just venting and

enjoying feeling half-normal for the first time in months. Wish it would last.

Hi :

I have been on Prednisone for over 5 years of daily use. I have tried

many times to get off it, but was not successful.

I could not go without it, as it makes my RA better, and I go longer in

between flares, and they don' t last as long. I wonder why your Rheumy

won't give it to you long term. Prednisone has been a " wonder drug " for

me. I know it has serious side effects, but for me, it has been

wonderful.

Right now my RA is quiet, and I have no pain at all. Yes, I have Knee

pain, but that is from OA and RA. I am just waiting for a surgery date

so I can get a total knee replacement. I hope it is very soon.

I hope you can really talk with your Rheumy, and get to explain all the

pain and suffering you are in. It needs to be addressed.

Wishing you pain free days ahead.

hugs,

Barbara

Hi :

Maybe your PCP will change his mind when he sees how much better you are

on Prednisone. I know some drs. are against it, but it sure does work

good for me. I would have no life if I wasn't on it.

I hope he gives you another go round with it. It feels so good to get

relief from all that pain and suffering. Long term pain makes me crazy,

that I can't think straight.

Wishing you pain free days ahead.

Hugs,

Barbara
