In fact, I'm sort of surprised that your mother hasn't had a spinal cord MRI before now. My dad had one, along with the head MRI, on his first trip to Emory to rule out spinal cord disease. There was nothing in the spine and no lesions in the brain, leading to the MSA diagnosis. Can Joyce still lay flat enough to DO an MRI?
