Guest guest
Wonderful! Yes...Not suffering=Success. IE does require effort...though good effort that also yields a nice feeling of success. Guest guest
Hi Meg, This is extremely interesting, I am a perfectionist too and it took a lot of time for me to understand that it is possible to have success (in any field, in my case, in my writing - I am writing in french) without suffering, even while having fun! When I allow myself to go for a walk and to work less hours, in a more relax state, I always have better writing days. I bet this approach, refusing to suffer, when applied to ie, would work too... Thanks for sharing this, Nat Subject: An interesting feeling...To: IntuitiveEating_Support Received: Thursday, September 11, 2008, 12:52 PM I was reading Koenig's blog on the site that was posted earlier about Rainbow eating and something clicked for me here...She was talking about the price of success, why we (especially perfectionists, like me) feel when we are suffering (through starvation in my case) that we are striving, accomplishing something, that the suffering made us feel good because we had to suffer to accomplish. And that this is difficult to let go of. When we are not suffering, we are failing to do something...It made me think about pre-IE, when I was dieting (suffering) I was much more happy than when I was not dieting. I felt like I was doing something that needed to be done, that I wanted to do. Suffering=SuccessIn the past months, I have been legalizing foods, not suffering through starvation, not depriving myself of anything I wanted and guess what?! I am happy now, too! What an interesting feeling. Not suffering=Success Hmmm...Could it be true?:)MegIE since 2/08 Now with a new friend-happy design! Try the new Yahoo!
