When I turned 66 a few months ago, I got a letter from SS that I was no

longer on SSD. So, I guess your answer is 66 years of age.

I don't know what the rules are, but Betty's sister is complaining about

having to pay $110 for her Medicare. We're using a Medicare Advantage plan

and are only paying $96.40, and Betty's paycheck is only $170 per month.

I've heard a few people complain about losing good insurance just because

they are *eligible* for Medicare. Also, we who draw SS will not get a cost

of living raise at least through 2012, and maybe not after that. Our costs

still go up, though. We can thank the Obama administration for that. Think

about how much we are losing because of the government.

Why do you have to go off your husband's insurance? Is this the company policy?

A lot of people keep their other insurance when they go on Medicare. I used to

work for an insurance company. Your husband needs to contact his HR dept about

this. Take care.

Now that I automatically qualify for Medicare, I HAVE to go off the good, free

insurance. I now have $110 taken out of my SSD check monthly for Part B, have a

$200 deductible and have a limited amount of chiro visits. Ugh
