Guest guest
I don't think I am trusting myself with chips either. I still feel like there will come a time when I will have to stop eating them. I guess I don't REALLY believe that I can have them whenever I want. And there are so many flavours...and types (potato, corn, cheezies). Do I need to legalize all of them? Plus I am scared...I don't think there will ever be a time where I will choose to not eat them over something else. I really do need to make peace with chips! Guest guest
I think that you should legalize whatever it is you feel is " bad " . I understand the hesitation. I still have not legalized nutella. I almost bought some this weekend but in my mind I pictured myself binging and didn't buy it. I don't think I am trusting myself with chips either. Guest guest
I guess I'm going chip shopping after work! I really do need to legalize them. I thought I had but I guess not. I still see them as bad. I don't think I'll be able to buy 16 bags at the same store though! 2 bags is the most I have ever bought at once and I've been embarrassed. I noticed an interesting thing about " foods to be legalized " . I think I banned so many foods that I didn't even think about eating/legalizing them until I ate them again (kind of accidentally) since maybe years. I noticed this when I ate toast with butter on it yesterday evening. Or when I ate toast with Ovomaltine/Nutella this morning. I could have gone on and on and on because of the lovely taste (especially the toast with butter). Sometimes I think I still have a lot of foods to legalize. Also interesting that some foods that were " legal " some months ago are now " forbidden " and/or " bad " again. Erm, I think I mentioned that I'm experiencing a huge setback since weeks... I think I might start a topic about this legal foods. I can't remember reading about legalized foods that become " bad " again in one of the IE/ND books I've read. And yes, I'm procrastinating studying with writing here right now. *grmbl* I have to remember that I can have A LOT OF FREE TIME after this is over. Now I have to be strong and work. Only three more weeks to go, dammit! But it doesn't work the way I wish it to work. Regards s.
Guest guest
Ok...my chip shopping story. I ended up getting 2 bags of zesty cheese Doritos (and they were onsale too...bonus!). I wanted to stop there but I made myself buy more of my favourites. Bits & Bites were on sale too so I got 2 bags of them too. And then I added a bag of BBQ potato chips. So I ended up getting 5 bags total. Pretty good..I don't think I have ever bought that much at once. I was kinda embarrassed but I kept telling myself...people don't know you...you could have a huge family you are buying these for...there's nothing wrong with buying and eating chips, etc. And then I ran into my brother! Who knows I live alone. And is currently losing weight. I kept waiting for him to comment on the stuff in my cart but he never did. So I came home and I was hungry so I ate some Doritos! That was huge for me...normally I would make my "proper" supper and then have my snacks whether I was hungry or not. So I ate some Doritos and enjoyed them but then I was wanting something more substantial. So I had some leftover pizza and some broccoli. And then I had a cookie and a little bowl of ice cream. And I was perfectly satisfied! I haven't been hungry since and I haven't felt like eating. I'll feel like devouring them when I sit down to watch tv later. But I'm going to try and get through it without binging on the chips. I'll let you know how I make out. Thanks for the suggestion to buy the 16 bags of chips Meg! I didn't get 16 but I got a lot more than I've ever bought. I think I'll go back and get some more after work tomorrow. I realize now that I really never have legalized chips. I did this with my favourite white chocolate bars last winter...I bought 10 bars. I went crazy for the first few days and probably ate 5 of them. But I think there is still one in my closet. It never occured to me to buy a whole bunch of chips...I guess because I was too hung up on how embarrassed I'd be.
