Guest guest
Hi Connie, I have the HLAB27 genetic mutation as well. Besides AS, HLAB27 in common in Reactive Arthritis. When I tested positive for B27, my rheumy dx'd me with inflammatory arthritis. In all the reading I have done I have discovered that testing positive for HLAB27 means very little. It does not change your prognosis or treatment. One rheumy told me that the theory was that HLAB27 occurs once every other generation -- but my sister, who does not have any diseases, also tests positive. The rheumy eventually switched me to assymmetrical RA since the biologics were not approved for AS or ReA at the time. Take care, Steph in VA I was looking over some of the notes my Rhumatologist wrote out on my last visit and she had written down that I had the HLAB27+ which is Ankylosing Spondylitis I found out, and she said that it makes for weird RA. Does anyone else have this? I would sure like to hear from you/ God Bless Connie ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The 2009 Charlottesville Arthritis Walk is Sat.
