I read your reply to fast and I totally dissed some of your meds. Sorry about

that. I guess every one responds differently to different stuff. I have a very

timid rheumatologist.... She started me off slowly on every thing and anything

(it seemed like) I think at one point in my life I was taking more medication

than my grandpa. Anyhow still glad to here of the remission. -

started methotrexate 2 weeks after I was dx'd and Enbrel a few months later.

Enbrel didn't help, so I switched to Remicade and I have been in a medication

induced remission ever since. Remicade has greatly reduced my pain, swelling and

fatigue. When I started the Enbrel and Remicade in early 2000, very little was

known about them but I was in so much pain that I saw no other choice besides

taking that risk. Weighing the risks vs. benefits is a hard decision for people

with chronic illnesses but you are in good company in this group. I'm sure many

others will share their experiences. In the 9 years I have been on Remicade, I

have had minimal bone erosion and I have not developed any secondary illnesses.

I do not regret my choice.

group. I've been living with RA for about 10 years. Diagnosed at 26. Recently my

Dr. changed up my meds, not that its the first time they've been changed, but it

seems more serious to me now. She put me on Enbrel.... I guess I was fine, when

it was bunch of pills, but injections? I just need some more information and

people who have been there done that!!! Thanks for your time!
