Guest guest
> I am so shocked to see how little it truly takes me to get full and even more shocked to see how long it takes me to get hungry again after I eat. Anyone else??? YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES, I can so relate. This is from a post I just did that talks to the scariness of it for me. And only eat until I'm a little full for my after work meal.....knowing that I can eat more if I get hungry again later. I'm doing it but it's really scary setting here with the feelings knowning that I'm chosing not to stuff myself to drown the feeling. It's also scary thinking that I may not get hungry again before bed. Also my body does not like to have food in it when its trying to sleep...so if it does not get hungry before 7ish it's no more food for me. Its frightening thinking how little my body really needs when I stop before I'm stuffed and wait until I'm hungry to eat again. I'm trying to focus on how much money I will save on my food bill eating only when I'm hungry. LOL
Guest guest
I'd say that is a usual reaction that we all discover for ourselves. I know I am still surprised to find that I am feeling 'full' after only a few bites. And I notice too that I can go longer times before I really need to eat again. Food doesn't have to dominate my waking day! Guest guest
Sometimes I notice that too. I'm still figuring out what level of fullness is comfortable for me. I still eat to a fullness that is a bit more than is comfy - I guess I'm still learning to identify that "last bite" feeling! I notice it sometimes, but not always. I'm getting there! Guest guest
I am at the point where I am not sure when I am hungry until I am too full! How do you know when you are getting close to full? Guest guest
It is a little tricky, I agree. What I do is after I have had about 4-5 bites of food, I stop and ask myself if I am still hungry or if I am just wanting the food for the sake of wanting it. Usually, I am still hungry at that point, so I keep asking myself the same question with each bite. I find that I usually stop and decide that I am full once about half my food is gone. > > From: etherenceryahoo (DOT) com <etherenceryahoo (DOT) com> > Subject: [intuitiveEating_ Support] Shocked!! > To: " IntuitiveEating_ Support@yahoogro ups.com " <IntuitiveEating_ Support@yahoogro ups.com> > Date: Saturday, October 11, 2008, 3:36 PM > > > > > I am so shocked to see how little it truly takes me to get full and even more shocked to see how long it takes me to get hungry again after I eat. Guest guest
Oh yes, I agree. I was just laughing this morning at how much darned food I used to eat because my diet guru said I should. And hunger was not even recognized. I ate huge plates of food for breakfast lunch and dinner. I am really finding that waiting for hunger is a learning experience and the amount of food I eat is way less. > > I am so shocked to see how little it truly takes me to get full and even more shocked to see how long it takes me to get hungry again after I eat.
