Guest guest
, Dennis and all- Thanks for the words of understanding & encouragement. I realize that this could be far worse than it is. When I couldn't walk for 11 1/2 months after I tore a disc in half, I stared at the ceiling and wanted to die. I don't feel that way now. I want to feel empowered to fight this nasty business. I have been reading a fraction of the vast ton of stuff out there on RA. Much of it seems to contradict itself. I have read about the benefits of a Mediteranian diet, but then I read that tomatoes and mushrooms are bad for you. Yikes! Take the Pred/don't use Pred. ETC. I know I'll get a handle on this somehow. I really trust my NP- I dislike most Docs. I do realize that I'll have to go back to the Rheumy. I will have to find a new one since I moved 3 hours away from where I used to live. I really live out in the sticks and will have to travel about an hour or so to go to anybody else. At least I have a my cast of characters in the form of critters. They are a pain in the tail sometimes- but at least they make me laugh a lot. Besides the farm animals, we have many indoor pets. My life since the kids are grown and gone is the critters. You simply can't stay too bummed out when a goat smiles at you ( yeah, they really do smile ). Does anybody else in here garden? I'd like to talk to you off-list on how to do it differently so that it doesn't hurt so much. Another question- Does 20 mg/ day of Prednisone seem like a lot? I am scared of the effect it will have on the bones which are not too spiffy to begin with. Thanks again--- in SC
Guest guest
Amen! To some citrus helps with inflammation for others it makes their symptoms 100x worse... Lots of info out there on avoiding " night shade " vegetables while others say they're good for you! I think it's all trial and error... Just like how some medicines work for some and not others each person handles foods and supplements differently! You'll have to be your own guinea pig ; ) Candace No shadows to depress you Only joys to surround you Many friends to love you God himself to bless you These are my wishes for you, For today, tomorrow & everyday.
