Guest guest
Hi : I hope they find out what is causing your pain, and I hope it is not too serious. One of my close friends was having severe coccyx pain and went to the ER, etc. After many x-rays, and MRI's, and CAT scan, they did the P.E.T. xray, and found a crack in that bone. She had an infection breeding in there. She is on strong anti-biotic meds, and just had surgery to clean out the area. Her infection was a Strep infection. She is doing great now. The infection is cleared up, and no more pain. I guess it was a freak thing that happened. She did fall on the ice a few years ago, and never realized she had fractured it. We were all glad she went to the ER to be checked out. Gosh, we never know how things turn out. It is always better to get checked out by a Dr. just to be sure. Wishing you pain free days ahead. ANy clues what they are looking for and can it be nothing serious? > > in northern VA woods > mchristinad@... >
Guest guest
Try not to worry, . They have to check out any abnormality they find. Maybe you could call your physician so that he can reassure you. Guest guest
Hi - I don't know what they are looking for specifically, but I can tell you about a similar incident that I went through. I had pain in my upper arm and an x-ray showed a " shadow " near the humeral head. Nothing showed on an MRI and nothing showed on a bone scan, so they went in surgically to biopsy the area to find out what it was. Turned out to be a benign bone cyst. They cleaned out the area and filled it with synthetic bone and that was the end of that. Keep us posted. My prayers are that your " shadow " turns out to be something simple, too.....Doreen Hi all, I had pain in my coccyx area for about four weeks and went to my internal med doctor this Monday.
