Guest guest
Sounds like the south beach diet. Why do they not want you to eat fresh veggies? Fresh veggies have more nutrients then cooked. I have always wondered this. I did south beach to lose a few pounds, and it was great for that, but I ended up feeling slugish after a while. Like you said different strokes for different folks. Thanks for sharing, and I am glad you found something that works for you.jaynes_photos wrote: My diet isn't for everyone though. No red meat. No caffeine. No chocolate. No veggies unless they are cooked, well, except for lettuce. LOL. Lactose free milk. Very little dairy otherwise. No fried or greasy foods. I eat 1 1/2 meals a day during the week and try to get in two meals a day on the weekends. I eat stuff like turkey sandwiches or chicken salad and some cans veggies for lunch and then I snack a couple of times on stuff like a handful of cheeze-its, a Raisin Bran snack bar, Go Tart, Go Gurt, something like that. I didn't crappy this weekend though since it was Mother's day. Here's an example of last weeks food intake: Mon: 1/2 of a 2 1/2 oz bag of Ruffles, an apple danish, 6" Subway (grilled chicken, cheese, lettuce & light mayo), 1 tube of Go-Gurt, butter bread, and an all fruit popsicle. Probably had a Sierra Mist in there somewhere. Tue: Veggie Lo Mein, Beef & Broccoli, Teriyaki chicken, butter bread, an all fruit popsicle, and 2 cans of Sierra Mist. (needless to say I had chinese buffet to go) Wed: Snack bag of Ritz chips, turkey and cheese sandwich, a sweet & salty almond bar, sierra mist, a popsicle, and 11 fig newtons (way too many but they are addictive) Thu: turkey & swiss frescata ('s), baked potato, 1 piece of bread with chicken salad on it, 2 pop tarts, 1 can of sierra mist. fri: 4 fig newtons, chicken salad sandwich, 3/4 can of green beans, 2 soft tacos, and sierra mist. sat: 1 piece of pizza, small cherry cheese cake, 2 pop tarts, turkey and cheese sandwich, 2 cans of sierra mist sun: 16oz cup of perfection salad (lime jello, cole slaw, pineapple, pecans), dinner roll, 1 can of sierra mist. (told you the weekend wasn't very good.) Usually, my week is a little more healthy than this. I had a sweet tooth last week. I just cut way back on what I eat. I keep pretty busy and don't really think about food. I try to stop eating about 7:30 pm and then I don't end up eating again until about 10:30 the next morning. That usually when I start getting hungry at work. I walk 10 minutes a night on the treadmill which has helped me tremendously. I've lost 65 pounds so far. My back and legs are a little more loose and less pained. My depression and anxiety have gone down a lot but I still can't bring myself to walk into a super Walmart. LOL. Too stinking big! LOL. I'm back into the smallest pair of jeans that I own. I haven't been in those for over 3 years. I would be doing a lot better if I drank more water and less Sierra Mist. I'm just proud that I got over my chocolate addiction (10 months and counting.) I sound like I'm CA (chocoholics anonymous). You just kind of have to figure out what's right for you. I feel a lot better now that I don't eat very much. My entire digestive system has turned itself around since I quit the greasy foods and switch to lactose free products. I have IBS with my Fibro and I was downing Immodium like 3 times a week. I have one bout of diarrhea this entire year so far. I hope that some of this helps you.
