Guest guest
Hi to all, I just recently received my Sept/Oct issue of Arthritis Today magazine and there is an article on page 50 stating that a recent study was presented to the 2009 Annual Mtg of the Euporean League Against Rheumatism in Denmark ( I think you could go to : www.ArthritisToday.org and look up the article) But the jist of the article states that 72% of people w/ RA who didn't respond to their initial treatment of Rituxan saw their symptoms improve after a second (meaning 2nd set) infusion and 16% achieved remission. Apparantly, the more " B " cells a patient starts out wth, the less likely they were to respond to treatment first go around. If you've had the 1st round of Rituxan with no results -( this article does NOT say how many subjects were involved in the study BUT).... it's worth mentioning to a doc............ Rituxan is usually prescribed for people who haven't responded to other available treatments. Which that's been me - so I read everything!!! Rituxan had weird but great---no--- WONDERFUL results for me and I'm looking at starting another round very soon w/ new doctor as soon as blood work is finished. It's been a blessing for me - in SC
