Guest guest
I was just thinking the same thing the other day. Yesterday while the boys were out, the girls and I baked some cookies. I really enjoyed the time with the girls and got some good "taste testing" in without the guilt!!! Yes, I think the holidays will be way more enjoyable this year:) God Bless, Dayna:) To: IntuitiveEating_Support From: kitchat123@...Date: Sat, 8 Nov 2008 20:15:13 +0000Subject: Enjoying the holidays Hi all,I was just thinking how much more enjoyable the holidays will be this year. For the first time since I was a child, I will go into this season with no sense of fear or dread about "blowing it" or bingeing on holidays goodies and packing on lots of pounds. My family will also be happier because they will not be forced to endure a low fat Thanksgiving or a sugar free Christmas or a crustless pumpkin pie ever again! It will be so nice to see the many holiday recipes, complete with delicious looking photos, that will soon start popping up everywhere we look in magazines, and to watch the many holiday themed cooking shows and think, "Hmm, that looks tasty, maybe I will try making that," instead of, "Oh no! Get that away from me! How unfair that I can't have that!" (And then run out and binge on pizza or cake to console myself.)I can remember literally tearing out pages from my magazines because I just could not endure looking at the delicious images of brownies and cookies and other holiday treats. Now I can look at them with pleasure, knowing that I am too lazy to attempt to make 90% of them, and also knowing that if I DO make them, I will enjoy them and not binge on them or feel guilty about eating them. The expression "Happy Holidays" will ring much truer for me this year. I used to view it as one big, long, downward spiral, starting with Halloween and running straight through New Year's Day. This year I can truly enjoy celebrating these holidays with my family.
