Guest guest
I can only tell you my experience. I had blurred vision and had cataract's from the Pred. They were removed easily, a week apart. Takes on a few seconds for the eye surgeon to do this. I now have 20/15 and 20/20, perfect.  I had a lot of troubles with my lungs and had to see a lung specialist. I get Bronchitis a lot, have had pneumonia so many times, I have lost count. I also have Asthma which is set off from any URI and Bronchitist. I also had a lot of nodules on both lungs, but they have all gone away. Whew, I have had a lot to deal with.  The minute I feel sick, I go to my PCP immediately and get on anti-biotics. I also see my Rheumy at that time too. My lung issues get very sick very fast. I have had a lot of trouble with this since I was diagnosed with RA 7 years ago.  I hope this helps you and I hope you feel better soon.  Hugs,  Barbara From: roxanareagon <leegleze@...> Subject: [ ] Eyes and lungs? Date: Friday, August 6, 2010, 7:24 PM  Can anyone tell me how RA affects eyes and lungs? I've had this dreaded disease for over 20 years, but I'm just recently experiencing weird stuff going on. I'm supposedly in remission, so the rheumy took me off all drugs except pain killers (Tramadol) more than a year ago. Therefore, I don't think my rapid-onset blurry vision and mucus in my lungs is related to drug side-effects. thanks for your help! Guest guest
Roxana, My hubby has pulmonary fibrosis caused by his RA. If your lung problems continue, I would go see a pulmonologist just to make sure that you're alright. My hubby had a cough for years and his PCP called it asthma but now they say he never had asthma. A lung CT scan diagnosed the problem. Take care. Lynn in Louisiana > > Can anyone tell me how RA affects eyes and lungs? Guest guest
One of the first things I noticed was my vision getting worse... And when I tried lowering my Pred dose my lungs started filling with goo... One of the reasons I went on it in the first place. Guest guest
Thanks so much for your information, everyone! I've had pneumonia three times this year, and have generally felt " unwell " for a long time. The eye thing has really started to scare me though. The blurriness has come on so fast! I will make appointments with the appropriate doctors a.s.a.p. Can anyone point me to a website where I can get information specifically on these aspects of RA (or what words would I use to google them)? Seems I've tried every word combination possible, but I can't seem to get much specific info besides RA's effect on joints. Muchas gracias! ~ Roxana ~
Guest guest
I find this forum very supportive and informational. I've been very busy lately and not able to access the Internet. Some things are finally making sense to me after all these years. I'm not sure if everybody or maybe a few of you have tried this: Don't eat Red Meat period! My boyfriend and I have changed our diet to eat a lot of veggies, fruit, chicken, fish. Pretty much low carb. Today I woke up and I've actually felt great this week and my aches and pains were back. I hurt all over. What did I do differently? Last night we were rushed and stopped and had a delicious burrito from Santiago's. I'm certain it was the red meat. I'm going to experiment further with this further as we have just started this diet last week, but I truly had a great week (pain wise) and my overall attitude was better. I do have a question for the group: Have any of you grown nodules? How big do they get? When is surgery necessary? Do they go away on their own? Missed the group, but glad to be back.   Heidi in Denver
Guest guest
Hi Heidi. Yes, to your nodule question. I have one on each foot under the arch on the outside of my foot. I had to have the larger one surgically removed 4 weeks ago. It had gotten very big, very painful and I could hardly walk on that foot. The other one is much smaller, and so far, no problem at all. I hope this answers your question.  Hugs,  Barbara From: Heidi Kimball <hkimball48@...> Subject: Re: [ ] Eyes and lungs?
