Guest guest
Debby, I was on 5 mg's for a long while also. They have reduced me to 2.5 mg's and I hurt everywhere. It seems to be getting worse. I, like you, hope this doesn't last long. I have an appointment on Wednesday with Hepatologist and I will ask about it. I can understand how you feel. My neck and shoulders hurt also. I had an car accident years ago and had a terrible sprain and it seems that every time I get the aches it lands in the neck area. I thought it was just that but maybe its more. Hope you get some answers soon. .

When I came off the pred my head hurt and i had real bad shakes and sweats, maybe the doc should reduce your dose a little less at a time than he has - when i came off pred it was awful but no way as bad as what your going through. Hope you feel better soon Gill __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Thanks Gill. The doctor is doing this for one week and then I have labs....so actually, it will be closer to 2 weeks of hell before I get the lab results. If my LFT's are OK, then I continue for 3 months. I just hope I won't feel so crummy but maybe it is just temporary. I see the rheumatologist the middle of November, so maybe he can help with the pain if I don't adjust. It really sounds horrible, but I am almost hoping my labs are high so I can begin to feel good again by taking the 5 mg! I had been on 5 mg for nearly one year, so my body is really used to it. OOohhhhh that is terrible. But, if I can go into remission, it would be wonderful. Thanks for your support. Re: [ ] Coming off prednisone --- tdcc <tdcc2000@...> wrote: > Hieveryone. Guest guest
, I remember that it was only about a week ago that they reduced it for you too, right? Oh gosh, my head just aches! I want it to go away SOOO much. I can't even think of going to work tomorrow and facing 20 little First Graders feeling like this! I will just tell them I don't feel great and they generally will settle down a lot. Good luck with your appointment. I will have my blood work next Thursday to give the blood one full week to see if it is going to kick out anything worth getting to change back. I NEVER in my life would have thought that I WANT to continue on prednisone. I HATE the med, but it helps my life be tolerable. Guest guest
Debby, Tapering is the pitts!! After almost two months of being off predisone, I am extremely stiff in the joints, and they all hurt, I walk like a little old lady lately. It's interesting you mentioned your hands going to sleep, I get that a lot in one arm and even sometimes it lasts into the day, I don't know what is causing it for me. I hope you feel better, get extra rest, I found that my only relief. Ruth tdcc <tdcc2000@...> wrote: Hi everyone. I saw my doctor last week and she has decreased my prednisone by 1 1/2 mg. Guest guest
Ruth, for me, it is the Spinal Stenosis in my neck. A couple of years ago, it was so bad, I missed nearly 2 1/2 months of work. I hated every moment of it. The pain was totally incredible, but I have learned that when it begins to happen, it is important for me to return to the gym or at least do the neck and shoulder exercises that the Physical Therapist gave me. When I do that, the pain is lessoned. I am almost to the point of asking for some time off, but can't really afford it. I just do this day to day and hope for the best! God bless you and I hope you find some relief too. debby Re: [ ] Coming off prednisone Debby, Tapering is the pitts!! Guest guest
Jan, My taper hasn't been rapid. It's taken 3 years to get down to 2.5 and then I had all the joint pain so my Hep. increased back to 5. He said if this helped the joint pain he would taper much slower next time. After this, I'm not sure I want to be on anything lower than 5. Everyone is different. I never thought I would ever say I didn't want to come off the stuff. Never say Never. Guest guest
I took advantage too and gave our place a good clean today. I am glad I did, but already starting to pay for it. Oh well. House looks good. Doc has me on Lortab too. Works pretty good, but haven't taken it much on the Prednisone. I go back to primary care doctor in two and a half weeks. > > hi nicole, > > i'm with you..... i have just finished taking a round of pred, and i already feel so DOWN.... don't feel like moving. while i was on the pred. i felt so much better, went out and even did some yard work. now i don't feel like doing nothing.... > > i go back to the dr. at the end of april. am still on lortab, maybe that'll get me through. > > BETTY
