Guest guest
And therein lies the problem. WE have NOTHING that eliminates Autism for everyone! My daughter is just startign the GFCF diet. We also do speech therapy, OT therapy, ABA, neuro-biofeedback and she started on the cod liver oil/Vit. A a la Megson. We have done music therapy in the past. Guest guest
colleen, We are doing homeophathic med. on our son. He is 4 1/2. He is on the diet and doing very well. He is also on Vitamin supp. and removing mercury from his system. We are also doing EPD shot (enzyme potentiated Desentization). He is responding well to everything. (wont know about the EPD until he has had at least 7 shots) ( he has only had three given every 8 weeks). If you have anymore questions fill free to email me at jayblackmon@... Kendel in Texas just a thought >I was wondering about something. Are any of you pursuing anything other than the diet. I mean, the diet, when it comes right down to it, is only treating, or perhaps preventing, the symptoms of Autism, and is not eliminating the Autism itself. I often worry about what will happen when my son is older. You can't see your child all the time. And what if the diet does straighten him out. Then what? When he's a teenager, and everyone is eating snacks and having a good time, I'm sure my son would want to join right in. When he's not with me, I will have no control over what he eats. What about when he's dating? I mean, will he have to insist that his date eat gfcf meals to avoid contaminating him with a kiss? Will he have to insist that his dates not wear makeup becuase he could absorb it transdermally? I think many of us have the same goals for our children, including that our children be able to lead as normal a life as possible. I am currently doing research on alternative treatments, and I am learning a lot about nature, and vitamins and herbs and medicine. And I feel that I will find the answer, and sooner than expected. A dear friend said to me recently " If cancer could be cured by eating three pears every day, we would never find out, because the doctors and other scientists won't look to nature. " I thought about the kiss-contamination one day, when I was having a salad. My son grabbed me by the face and kissed me. I was thrilled until I realized that I probably had trace amounts of Ranch dressing on my lips that could have casein-contaminated him. > >I guess I really just hate this diet and the wrench it has thrown into our lives. And I think that whether you want to admit it or not, a lot of you would like a better answer than this one. It is a simple fact that if you have to use a treatment for the rest of your life, then it is not a cure, it's just a band-aid. I would liek to hear privately from anyone who is using alternative treatments other than cranial-sacral. I'm specifically interested in hearing form people who are using or researching homeopathy. > >thanks. >colleen > > >
