Guest guest
- I am not sure about the medical mj (I know it's not legal in SC) but there is a drug out there called Marinol that is made from pot and it is a legal prescription in most states. It is considered a controlled substance ---It has the same effect basically - you are just swallowing a gel pill instead of smoking. If your doc won't prescribe the medical mj - ask about the marinol From: eandsspivey <emilyspivey@ centurytel. net> Subject: [ ] New doc and pain meds @gro ups.com Date: Thursday, August 27, 2009, 12:11 PM I made an appt with a new ortho surgeon and received a packet of stuff in the mail to fill out and take with me when I go for first appt. There is a full page letter in it to patients saying that he will not prescibe narcotics at all and if you agree to let him treat you, you cannot take any pain pills prescribed by another doctor. It says he feels there are other ways to deal with pain besides becoming hooked on narcotics. (Wonder if he'll give me a script for weed!!!! lololol) It also says he does not prescribe Xanax and will not allow patients to take it. I think he and I will have a talk. He may not feel that I need pain meds for what he's treating me for but he has to take into consideration that I also have RA and FMS, Anxiety, Depression, bursitis, chostochondritis and a brain tumor! And if he operates on my neck, I will relieve the pain some how! This relationship may not last long.....
