Thank you for sharing this. I for one, have always been a fast eater. I usually blame it on having to eat between taking care of kids, home, school, etc. And now it's just become habit. I really need to learn the art of slowing down and enjoying my food.

God Bless,

Dayna:)

My friend, a pharmacist, sent me this article on some research results that I think support what we are doing beautifully. http://www.emedicinehealth.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=93574Sheri (IEing since Jan.08) Store, manage and share up to 5GB with Windows Live SkyDrive. Start uploading now

Thanks for that article, sheri! I posted it in my blog to remind me to slow down. It also made me think of an article that challenged my diet mentality years ago, and probably led me to IE. It is about the correlation between overweight people and Diet Sodas. http://www.webmd.com/diet/news/20050613/drink-more-diet-soda-gain-more-weight

interesting!!

Bonnie, That was a very interesting article. I go through spurts where I will drink a lot of caffeine free diet pop, but I've always noticed with an increase in diet pop I also seem to have an increase in my cravings for sweets and a lot of junk...and thus an increase in my weight. I don't know for sure but I've always wondered if it was the artificial sweetner. I had a really hard time with the South Beach Diet and I think it was because they used so much artifical sweetners in their recipes. It just seemed the more artificial sweetner I used, the more I would crave "real" sweets.

God Bless,

Dayna

To me, the link between a lot of diet soda and weight gain sort of

makes sense, if you're not eating enough foods with real sweetness in

them and then you have a lot of diet soda, which is something dieters

would probably do. When I was restricting, I did used to notice that

drinking diet soda, or any drink with artificial sweetener (aspartame,

Splenda, etc), would make my cravings, especially for candy or other

very sugary foods, much more intense. It was like I was giving my body

a tantalizing hint of sweetness, which just made it want real

sweetness more.
