Guest guest
I feel your pain Ms Betsy. But I dunno if it is caused from my RA, Fibromyalfia, the pain drugs, alzheimers or just plain- I'm getting older, so I have 'some-timers'. I was looking at my beloved partner of 20 years and could NOT remember a name! Now that will land you in the soup for sure! I would tell my Doc and Rhemy about it right away, as the sooner that you can document these type of things should you need to go on disability, the better. In the meantime, how much break-through Oxycontin are you using? Is that when it is most likely to be a problem? I can't take it myself- I can't think with that stuff in my brain. Identify patterns if you can and write them down so you remember to tell your Doc. I know you are getting scared for your job- but talk to the Rheumy ASAP- there may be a better solution for your symptoms that doesn't interfere with your work life. They only have you on those drugs because they work- since they may no longer be something that you can take- they have a long list of stuff to choose from. Docs sure don't seem to suffer a lack of drug choices. Let us know how it goes--- in SC Hello all, Has anyone has issues with memory or confusion? Guest guest
I only take the Oxy at night when I am home, as I don't want it to interfere with work. The Tramadol I must take to get through the day at work (pulling files is a killer). I'm going to try to get in to see my GP this weekend. I'll have to e-mail my new Rhuemy as she is in PR & I'm not scheduled to see her for a few months. Thanks for the insights! Guest guest
I also am on Tramadol (3 x day) along with Orencia, Methotrexate, Aleve, etc. When I take the Tramadol, I do have trouble remembering and do have confusion periods. One time, when visiting my son & daughter-in-law (who adopted a baby about 3 years ago), my daughter-in-law and I were discussing the problems women have when delivering babies. I asked her how much trouble she had delivering my grandbaby (as I had forgotten my grandbaby was adopted). It made me very sad. They have never asked me to babysit which also makes me very sad. I try very hard to suffer the pain and take breaks from Tramadol. When I can go a couple of days, I get a little clearer. It is so hard though because the pain is never ending and it is nice to get a break. There are some times - when I go off Tramadol to get clearer - it may be 3 or 4 days - by day 4, I just have a couple of drinks to relieve the pain. Just for a change from Tramadol. I don't do this often because it is not good but - just for a change. hope this helps.. > From: eafarchette <eafarchette@...> > Subject: [ ] Has anyone has issues with memory or confusion? > > Date: Thursday, September 30, 2010, 11:25 AM > Hello all, > > Has anyone has issues with memory or confusion? > > I'm only 47 and lately, just the simplest things are giving > me a problem, spelling, typing, alphabetizing, etc. I'm > working as a Receptionist/Secretary/File Clerk in a law firm > with 2 attorneys with separate practices and really need to > be on the top of my game.
