Thank you all for your good words,

My Hcg numbers are normal and I hope, so much, that this pregnancy will be ok.

I still do IE but I used some of my skills as an ex-professionnal dieter, meaning, my knowledge about nutrition. I also used my food anthropologist. To calm down - I thought I weighted way too much - I made a list of everything I ate, and calculated the calories, and the nutritional apport : do I get enough fruits and vegetables, enough calcium and protein.

The surprise is : yes. I eat the exact number of calories I need to maintain my current body weight + 300 for the baby! Amazingly, my body did the job o.k.! Then, I realize that I was eating mosting starchy carbs, so I tried to replace some of them with veggies and fruits, which I like anyway -t am just sometimes too lazy to prepare them -so I bought prepackage salads, carrots, lots of apples and grapes. I did the same experiment -writing down the food I eat, but with my nutrition adjustment, and I ended up with the same amount of calories.

Just amazing what your body can do when you trust it.

I go to the ob-gyn tomorrow, I am just very afraid that they will tell me I am too fat, that I can`t gain too much weight or lecture me. I have decided to not talk about IE, I have enough knowledge and maturity to know how to eat and IE, my modified version for IE, is the best for me now.

Congratulations Nat! How exciting that you are pregnant! I would say to stay positive and try to relax! I really sense your anxiety.Talk to your doctor as to following IE and your cravings. I'm sure it will be fine but he/she might have some suggestions to help you out. I know when I was pregnant (15 years ago!) I could not get enough citrus - I craved orange, grapefruit, lemon, pineapple etc. I believe that my body needed the extra vitamin C. Steaks and White Bread - Maybe you need B vitamins or Iron. Your blood tests might show what you are lacking also. Talk to your doctor and honor your body and your baby. I can't think of a better way to take care of you and your baby but to just stay aware and would think IE would be very good for pregnancy. What a great time to get in tune with your body!
