Guest guest
Hello, I have been using oxycodone for quite a while to obviously numb pain, particularly my upper back. I get very severe muscle spasms due to two fused vertebrae in my neck. I was going to a regular pain management group for a few years and they have no problem with me, urine testing me. They split up because of one of the main doctors moved and I had to start going to a clinic at a local hospital for approximately the past half-year. Recently, they gave me urine tests, and somehow I showed up negative in both tests. Failed the first, so they give me another. I never researched the half-life of oxycodone before. I was getting scripts of 120 5/325 pills a month for every 28 days. I know I took 10 5mg pills in a 36 hour period 36 hours before the second test and I still get tested negative (this script I extended out to 29.5 days). The first test, I have no idea how I got tested negative. Definitely was urinating a lot due to drinking a lot of fluid. I'd try not to take these pills every single day to make sure I don't get addicted, nor would I take them when I wake up until after an appointment. Would take a few days off and use marijuana and/or alcohol, instead. I was very fortunate to have an appointment with my rheumatologist at Yale soon after and she gave me a script of oxycodones. Without oxycodones, I will become crippled due to severe upper back pain limiting the amount of activity I am capable of and that would allow for other joints (both shoulders and both hips) to deteriorate much quicker. Those four joints I hope to have resurfaced when time comes and it will be soon. Most important issue at hand is how can I get my name cleared with the local hospital? They made a note on front of my file not to give me any oxycodone. I am working on getting myself into pain management again, with my doctor at the local hospital clinic writing a consultation, even saying I might get oxycodones, again. I showed her the script my rheumatologist wrote up, and she simply replied why can't I ask her to write the scripts. She is a resident, and her head doctor is being merciless when my case is as obvious as it gets. There are barely any pain management groups around here that accept Medicaid (have been disabled for 14 years). Any help or thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.
