Guest guest
Hi Carolyn As regards to AFO and driving. I started wearing one on right leg and than 3 years later came the left. It will feel strange for a week or two and than it becames real easy. Made driving easier and i wish i had done it a few years earlier like drs. wanted me too. You won't have to worry about getting foot on the brake anymore and slipping like i did. Good luck and best wishes. Kathy

Several years ago when my right foot finally gave out and my doc prescribed AFOs, I asked him if I could only wear the one, since the other foot did not give me a problem. He told me it would be better to wear them on both legs, that I would have a better gait and would feel better with two AFOs. Have any of your doctors told you similar? I finally had a triple done on the right foot and no longer wear AFOs, but wear in shoe orthotics, although I can tell the left foot is getting weaker, I may have to go back into them later. Guest guest
About hand ability; My hands do cramp or sort of " freeze " with very little activity anymore. It won't take much to make mine feel like the tendons are stretched and pulled severely. Even gripping the steering wheel to drive no further than three miles from home and back! Needless to say I can't use hand controls. . and feet and legs can't drive safely either now. . . so I stay home unless I really have to get out! Picking up a coffee cup can " grab " my muscles too like a charley horse in them. Carolyn I don't cut my meat myself anymore for the cramps set in gripping utensils in the postion it has to be in safely. I think this has been a problem for me since early childhood for I never liked eating meat. . . and still don't, wonder if that was just compesation measure so I didnt' have to ask for help cutting it. . . and my favorite foods are " finger foods " ! ===== " I THANK GOD FOR MY HANDICAPS, FOR, THROUGH THEM, I HAVE FOUND MYSELF, MY WORK, AND MY GOD. Definitely " No. " In fact, both my orthotist and orthopedic doc try to preserve what I have without prescribing assistive devices for as long as possible. Both have the attitude that my body will tell me when it is time, and I appreciate that. I think their attitude is that I am the one who lives in my body (no kidding!). Guest guest
Hi Laurie... My daughter just turned 5 last month, and she won't take capsules or pills...the only way I get her to take " medicine " is by dropper...she is also a picky eater, so trying to disguise it doesn't work either. I have seen bits and pieces of what looked like worms but more often I see candida (yeast) in her movements...she usually flushes before I get a chance to check it out...and I am not in a habit of using a colinder, so I just pay more attention to symptoms...As far as nausea, it depends...quite often one can experience " die-off " symptoms, so it is possible...my daughter has never complained of that though...It also depends on how bad the infestation is...there are some natural therapists that believe mega doses of probiotics are a more gentle way of treating dybiosis...opposed to medication or potent herbs.... INHIBITION AND ELIMINATION OF PATHOGENIC MICROBES " There are a few camps of thought on this subject. There are those who maintain that it is unnecessary to actually kill pathogens, and many of the herbs used to do so are quite toxic to the liver unless there is sufficient drainage of the liver and kidneys. For them, just taking probiotics will be enough to crowd out the pathogens. Advocates of soil based organisms or homesostatic soil organisms maintain that these stomach-acid resistant organisms that we used to get from our organic crops are enough to eliminate all pathogens, including yeast. Also they maintain just speeding up the digestion and elimination and ensuring proper absorption of all foods eaten will starve out the pathogens. In addition inhibitors of microbe metabolism like garlic, chlorophyll and lemon will decrease pathogen numbers. They suggest practices that inhibit but do not actually kill pathogens like taking lots of soluble fibre, drinking lots of water, exercising, brushing (skin) daily and maintaining a clean liver. Bland says establishing healthy flora can be achieved by using the diet alone. He maintains that (brown)rice-based diets are good because rice is easily and quickly digested so that they are not fermented (eaten) by the parasites. He, unlike Elaine Gottschall advocates the use of FOS because it supports symbionts at the expense of pathogens. However there are those who maintain the pathogens should be actively killed.... Here is the following statement of their current program. Q. Are the Bauman College programs accredited? A. Bauman College is licensed by the Bureau of Consumer Affairs and the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education. Our curriculum is reviewed every 3 years. Bauman College certifies our graduates with the Federal D.O.T. recognized titles of Nutrition Educator and Nutrition Consultant. Bauman College is professionally affiliated with the National Association of Nutrition Professionals, a non-profit business league representing and advocating on behalf of natural health-oriented food and nutrition professionals.
