Guest guest
That's common with the injection site. I've used enbrel since 2005 and the more I use it, the less I get that reaction but I can still get the raised welp every so often. Its a common site reaction along with itching. The reason I ask it because the first 2 weeks I didn't have not even a sign that I gave myself an injection. The last two injection sights have made a big red whelp about the size of a 1/2 dollar but not painful. I see my doc the end of next week so one more shot before I see him. I feel like they never want to discontinue stuff just tell you to suck it up and keep going. So frustrating. > > , > > Please call your doctor. > > I had a great experience with Enbrel until week 6 when I started having softball sized site reactions. I started enbrel 4 weeks ago. It was wonderful the first 2 weeks. Week 3 the pain started getting worse and now I just took my 4th shot yesterday and my hands, wrists, elbows and knees are back to the severe pain. I have also had fluid on my elbows for 1 year now and was hoping the enbrel would cause that to go down but it hasn't. > > Has anyone else had this happen? I can't add Methotrexate to it. Its a drug I can't take. I had to stop the Arava due to low white blood cell counts. I am just frustrated. I have heard of these TNF's not working after a period of time but never this fast. > > Any info would be great. > > Thanks, > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > ------------------------------------ This is a private list. Guest guest
After I inject my Enbrel, I rub some anti-itch cream on it. I also inject at night before I go to bed, so anuy injection site reaction is gone by the next morning. Guest guest
Some bruises go away faster than others. I don't worry much at all about the bruising. I'm just happy that I am able to do things once again. I don't think you'll bruise every time....I don't. Hugs..a In a message dated 10/18/2010 6:53:05 P.M. Guest guest
I think we get a bruise when we accidentally hit a blood vessel and it bleeds. After injecting, I always press hard with the alcohol pad for a few minutes. Bruises are unsightly, but clothes cover mine since I use my tummy.
