Guest guest
Hi Gang, I have some insurance related issues and I was wondering of anyone was ever told by their neurologist or NSG that their Chiari was specifically the cause of their tinnitus? A neuro-opthamologits [chief of neurology], three neurosurgeons, and a neurotologist [also a surgeon] told me it is not. They all said there is no reason to look at the structure of the brain and think that a compression of the cerebellum results in severe tinnitus. My severe tinnitus started 3 1/2 years before I believe I became symptomatic for Chiari. 2 years ago I was able to occassionally break 80 playing golf. Now, I can't possibly walk the course and know where my extremeties are exactly after being neurologically fatigued. IOW, I suck (g). I did have some mild dizzy spells back then but it was shown to be a peripheral vestibular problem by a rotary chair test and calorics. Thanks in advance, Steve C ACM 1 5-6 mm not electing for surgery Severe tinnitus Mild Meniere's Downbeating nystagmus
