Guest guest
You are so right Meg. So nice to have all that puppy love...so wonderful to enjoy!  Hugs,  Barbara From: megsbyte <megsbyte@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Excited, but not quite believing it Date: Thursday, September 9, 2010, 4:28 PM  Hi Love your approach. Personnally I sew and play with my puppies. Even if I don't feel like sewing, my dogs always want attention and they will come to me. All that unconditional love is like a giant hug. Guest guest
Feel free to contact me off-list to share critter stories Ms Betty. I used to breed African Greys and have always coveted a Yellow Nape- great talkers. My goats and various other critters are my life line. I don't know what part of the country you are in- a consideration for winter time - but you can easily set up an auto waterer for the days that you aren't able to attend the chickens. Feeders hold several days worth as well. I have 32 total chickens in various stages/ages and I can give you tips for their care to make it easier on you if you want them. I'd hate to see you give up something that makes your life happier. Hugs---- in SC to keep myself sane....hmmmmm.... i used to have goats, had to give them up , couldn't handle feeding them anymore. not able to tote 5 gallon feed buckets.... i miss them so bad, i loved them, all had names... i do go out and feed and water my chickens most everyday. the days i can;t walk that good, hubby will do it for me, but he really fusses about it. i might have to give them up too. .. i have an african grey parrot, and a yellow nape amazon. they both are really good talkers, so they will carry on a conversation with me, when nobody else will.... i have my little mini doxies to sit in my lap and cuddle. thats the only thing i get love from. thank god for them... i play on pogo.com at night, playing games, like gin, canasta, bingo.... i do that late at night cause i don't sleep anyway... everyone needs something to take our minds off our pain and depression. hope you all have something... with hugs, betty
Guest guest
How lovely that you have found a new friend OKD! Animals are supportive, demonstrative about affection and love without limits and not much baggage besides! What's not to love? I don't want to undermine the goals of this list by talking about critters a lot. I hope I haven't upset anyone- they are just really a great weapon against hopelessness, helplessness and depression for many people. How can one not feel life is at it's best while watching a goat do a flip or watching a kitten play with invisible wild dweeblings? They remind me that life is GOOD no matter how crappy my body says it is. I just want to live until I die in any form that fits. Anybody that wants to contact me off-list regarding critter yakking can feel free to do so. in SC Hi Chris: I have two turtles, red-earred sliders, they are getting HUGE now and require alot of attention in the tank, constant cleaning, live goldfish, cleaning filters. Sometimes it keeps me going. One day last year my middle daughter needed to move right away, she had 2 pitbulls and needed to leave one of them with me as her new place would only take one. At first I was upset (even though I love her (Naya). But i have come to realize, this dog was a god send. She makes me get up at 6:30 or 7:00 AM every morning (even on Sunday) to walk her, she actually wakes me up and then I have to walk her when I get home from work and then at 9PM at nite...this having to walk has really saved me from the " concrete stiffies " in the morning, after 20 minutes of walking, the stiffness is much better and i have a reason to walk. On Sundays we go to Central Park and walk around the lake, so naya gets exercise and me too. Never thought a dog would be my saviour, but she is. Guest guest
Hi Phyllis.    I love animals and so enjoy them in my life too. We have 2 cats and 2 dogs. None are mine but I love them so much. Bowie is my sons daog who is always beside me. He sleeps in my room at night and in the morning, he wakes up and comes to my side, smiles at me and is wagging his tail. He is a wonderful dog and I get such joy from him.      I don't think anyone would mind talking about loving animals. We share all types of things here. Animals make our lives good.  Hugs,  Barbara
