Guest guest
Thank you for asking about Limbrel. I will be interested in hearing of anyone's experiences. I too cannot tolerate any NSAIDs. I looked around on the net and someone posted that Limbrel is not " owned " by one of the big drug companies so there is probably isn't as much pushing by salespeople and hence, wouldn't be many samples or advertising money behind it. I have RA and OA and have recently switched to Imuran after having issues with Methotrexate. I just don't feel as well as I used to and have to take Tylenol a lot. Maggie > > Went to my rheumatologist yesterday. I am intolerant of any anti-inflammatory - not even one Ibuprofen on a full stomach. Have lived on Prilosec, Zantac, Pepcid, etc. if I take anything for a few days. Celebrex was FABULOUS for about 2 weeks, then I thought I was having a heart attack. > So, yesterday he tells me that he has a very small number (like 3) of patients taking this prescription " medical food " supplement, Limbrel, that is supposed to mimic a 2 inhibitor, but not mess with your stomach. > I look it up, and its primarily prescribed for osteoarthritis (which thankfully I don't have). As a reminder, I have about a decade of perfect lab results (seronegative) despite the progression of my disorder. If it would work anywhere near what the Celebrex did, I would be ecstatic. Have to get it filled tomorrow. Hopefully it doesn't cost a small fortune. > Anyone else ever take it? Any advice? > Thanks, > Deborah >
Guest guest
Well, I got the prescription for Limbrel filled today at my small family-owned drug store. I was betting they wouldn't have it, but the pharmacist said they have many patient on it who report good results. However, she said that because it is " medicinal food " , most insurance companies will not cover it despite it needing a prescription, so they have an adjusted price for it. Turns out that my insurance did cover it (still $50), but if it works, that would be fabulous!! Deborah
