Guest guest
Yes a sigh is one of my hunger satisfaction signals but other people have different signals glad to have you as part of the group. Eva Hi all. I am sharon in spain. I started my IE journey 2 years ago but it's still a work in progress. Lately I have been reading a lot about the body sigh being and indication of satisfaction. I was very surprised to discover this works for me and would be really interested to know if others have found it to be a successful tool in their IE journeys thank yousharon Plan your next getaway with AOL Travel. Guest guest
Humm...That's very interesting. I never thought of a sigh before, I'll have to pay more attention when I'm eating. I know I sigh a lot when I've overeaten and miserable.... God Bless, Dayna:) IE since 09/08 To: intuitiveeating_support From: sharon.james71@...Date: Sun, 2 Nov 2008 03:21:11 +0900Subject: The sigh Hi all. I am sharon in spain. Guest guest
Hello Sharon!! Good to see you here old buddy ;-) I haven't worked with the sigh myself, but I have noted it on a few occasions so it must have some validity. Are you having better luck with eating at your own times now that you are in a place with a kitchen of your own too? I can definitely relate to the IE journey taking time! I've been recently 'side tracked' and having to re-find my way along this path too. Probably been hittin' the trail too hard and just needed to back off a bit. Hope all is well with you and you are making memories in Spain that will keep you smiling when you return to Oz ;-) ehugs, Katcha > > > Hi all. I am sharon in spain. Guest guest
Hi Bonnie I stumbled across info about it accidentally on the internet. I read that some bodies sigh when first given food whilst hungry and then there is another sigh when the body is satisfied. I thought it sounded a bit far fetched and decided to try it out and it happened to me. It's a deep sigh that is not an intentional effort. It's when I know I have had enough. I have struggled on and off with IE, particularly the stopping eating when satisfied and I really believe this indication will be very helpful for me. It's quite exciting sharon

Guest guest
Hi Katcha! It is wonderful to hear from you I was really shocked that I had not read about the sigh earlier. I have really settled into the Spanish times of eating and love having our main meal at 2pm. My body is used to it so gets hungry around that time. I have my own kitchen and after living in a hotel for so long and needing to eat out for every meal I am very very appreciative! Katcha I think IE has taken me so long because every now and then I have a temporary lapse into insanity and I go on a diet! It sets me back months and months and I have to start over. I am determined that this won't happen anymore. I am working hard trying to find what works for me and IE principles with the relaxation CD of McKenna seems to work well. I am definately over the binging. I notice in the afternoon around 4pm the urge may hit but I allow myself something to eat and I eat it slowly and if I do slip up and overeat I don't reach the point of uncomfortable. I don't remember the last time I was really " full " Thanks again for your response Katcha sharon -xox-
Guest guest
Thank you Sharon, that makes sense! Will you send me links to articles about sighing when you find them? It's so interesting, but I can't seem to find any. So cool!! Bonnie > > > Hi Bonnie > > I stumbled across info about it accidentally on the internet. Guest guest
Hi Sharon! I usually do sigh when I'm satisfied. Unfortunately for me I have a hard time stopping there! That is going to be my project of the month. > > > Hi all. I am sharon in spain. I started my IE journey 2 years ago but it's still a work in progress. Guest guest
Hey everyone, I haven't been around for quite a while, but decided to pop in, today, and see what ya'll were chatting about. And, whatdoyaknow, you've discovered a trick I learned a long time ago: the Sigh! LOL. I've found that I actually *do* sigh when I've had just enough. And, the times that I've stopped there, I've found that I've stopped at " satisfied " . It works wonderfully! But, like Jennie_4 here, I also have a hard time stopping there -- I want to keep eating, even though I know I could stop at that point. That's where I'm still working on things.
