Guest guest
Hi folks, For any who have had cervical laminectomy (mine was partial C2 thru partial C7), do you know if it is OK to have cervical traction afterward? I'm having symptoms of radiculopathy in my right arm and right side, and EMG shows nerve damage at the root C6 or C7; also there's some arthritis at the neural foramen at C4-5 I think, or C5-6 or both. Anyway the local nsg wants me to do PT with traction 3x per week for a month and put me on neurontin if that does not work. (He said neurontin is for nerve pain and I told him 3 times I don't have pain in my arm and he still wrote " pain " on the PT referral.) I don't really trust this guy; he does not listen well. Anyway I won't do anything without checking with Dr. Heffez and also my physiatrist whom I do trust, but I wondered if any have experience with this question. Thanks very much, Carolyn A.
