Guest guest
Hi , Hoarseness is mentioned as a symptom of hypo, but I don't recall ever specifically reading about it being constant or intermittent. In autoimmune diseases, though, there is always some waxing and waning of symptoms so I'd suspect the hoarseness would be worse if the thyroid levels are lower. Take care, Elaine
Guest guest
Hi. I have read recently that that can be a symptom of RA. I was hoarse for long time few years ago until i was dx with Hashimoto's thyroid disease. .... > > Hello Friends, > > Does anyone else here have trouble with Hoarseness? It never occurred to me to ask, but I've been hoarse and haven't heard my own voice in almost five months. I've been back and forth to an ENT physician for the last couple of months now and to no avail. I've been treated with Dexilant for acid reflux and Astepro and Nasonex for swollen nasal mucosa. (Apparently the doctor thought these might be related) I'm totally baffled by this. I've had a nasopharyngoscopy twice. There are no lesions but the area between my vocal cords is quite swollen. Please tell me I'm not the only one with this problem. > > Shanyka >

Guest guest
Hello, Yes, I have hoarseness and sometimes when I talk my voice will just stop for a moment. I used to love to sing, but not anymore. Pam > > Hello Friends, > > Does anyone else here have trouble with Hoarseness? Guest guest
Hi Group: I too suffer from intermittant hoarseness, sometimes I can't speak at all, if I have talked for a long time, cant get my wind, so to speak its not like being breathless, its more like you simply cannot get the air to speak, in other words, its not like asthma (which I get also). I too have hashimoto's thyroiditis and was told this may be the cause, but I also have nodules down there and after reading about this type of RA of the throat I am not suspect that this may be the cause. The ENT wanted to scope me, and I refused (ugh!), because there is no remedy for this, other than surgical removal which may alter your voice permanently, so I would rather live with the hoarseness.
