Guest guest
Hi Deb, Thank you for sharing. It seems that we have many things in common. Family, "something greater" as support, IE (I am new), Dance and a foot injury! I am healing from a break and surgery. I have been walking again since 7/10 I can not wait to dance again. As for IE, I am almost halfway through the book, it sure does make a lot of sense. I am allowing myself to eat what I want when I want. I am stumbling through the stopping when satisfied. I think that I may need to slow down a bit. I eat way to fast and I think that I don't feel that I am full until it's too late. Anyway, progress not perfection. Sophia Subject: Group Support-Catching UpTo: IntuitiveEating_Support Date: Sunday, July 20, 2008, 7:10 AM I have been absent in reading & posting for quite some time (July 2nd) to be exact. I am concerned about the reverse religious persecution that seems to be happening to Alana. I saw the topic A Course In Miracles and thought- good I'd like to see what nne on says on this topic so was really surprised at the discomfort caused by this post. While I too do not want to see this group become a religious forum whether that be Jewish, Buddhist, Christian or Wiccan I want the freedom to express a belief in something greater when dealing with our struggles. Hope this makes sense. I have been absent because of my sister losing her house to a fire. Because of the fire her daughter and myself learned that she had become a hoarder and was drinking (again). She had let things go to the point she had no water, did not cook(formerly a gourmet cook). Many family secrets were discovered and discussed and long story short she is getting help and doing ok. The images of the trash, clutter and beer cans took a while to leave my mind. The biggest puzzle is how she functioned as a nurse and could get it together to fly to Chicago to see her daughter and grandchildren. We knew something was wrong as she would not allow anyone to visit her for the past 3 years. My belief in something greater helped with this situation. In regards to my IE experience. I find that it is difficult to overeat anymore but when I do it is my choice and I am concious I am doing it. I reentered it briefly as a coping tool for the above incident. I am hearing from others that I look as if I am losing weight so something must be working. I am looking forward to getting back into my Dance Dance routine as my foot is healing nicely. I have missed reading you all on a daily basis but have been on the road alot in my spare time.Love to you All, Deb
