Guest guest
I refuse to take it except on really bad days. The thing is, I'm already over 100 pounds overweight, and I also have a back problem in addition to RA. The prednisone, which will make me gain weight, will only make things worse in the long run, I desperately need to lose weight, which will improve my back. I am still hoping to find something else to control the pain. I only take it when it rains or when I have a REALLY bad day.- The need to lose weight is just too urgent for me. Guest guest
I hear you . I have degenerating disc disease and an annular tear at L5-S1 ( actually L6- I have the extra vertabrae ) and have constant back & neck pain. Originally on Pred for my back stuff-- I had just lost 5 inches and gave away my fat pants when I was put back on Pred again when diagnosed with RA. I take 20 mgs a day now. I am bloating back upward again. It's hard to weigh the need to take the drug and the need to not be a bloated mass. But I caution you - you should not be taking Pred here & there " as needed " . It is not a drug designed to be taken like an asprin. You can seriously screw yourself up. Do you think that you could compromise by taking a low dose instead? I am worried about you. Talk to a pharmacist if you can't talk to your Doc about it. Heck, if you can't talk to your Doc about it- you might need a new Doc. Either way, please educate yourself about this drug. It can be dangerous if not taken correctly. Just concerned- not preachin'---- in SC ---n Tue, 8/24/10, Terzo <sarah5775@...> wrote: I refuse to take it except on really bad days. Guest guest
Prednisone makes me so hungry and depressed! I can't take more than 15 mg a day or I am a puddle of tears. > > > > > lol but that it what it does it makes u feel good takes the pain away but > does > > such other bad things to your body.I take 7.5 mgs a day plus get a big > shot of > > predisone every 3-4 months. My face is like a moon,my top half is big my > tummy > > area is big too plus the weight gain I now weight 210 for my 5'5 ft > frame.I have > > been on it for 11 yrs now and prob will b on it for life or until they > find > > another drug to replace it, > > > > T. > > > > > > > > > >
