Guest guest
I've been fairly off-track in my intuitive eating of late (for various reasons), taking advantage of the " oh, hey, you can eat anything you like " part, without the " pay attention and listen to your body " part. So after recognising I'm doing a lot of emotional eating, which has led to weight gain, which has led to diety/bad-body thoughts, which has led to more emotional eating ... I opened my copy of McKenna's book again the other day, searching for a little IE re-motivation. I was immediately struck by a concept which I realised I haven't been applying at all over recent times: " Am I really hungry, or do I just want to change the way I feel? " I just try to ask myself that question every time I get the urge to eat. It's been *quite* an eye-opener. Sometimes you just have to go back to basics.
