OKD,

That would be a good question for your rheumatologist and/or radiologist.

My impression is that it's often difficult to tell from imaging alone,

and that you've got to actually go in - do a biopsy or excision - to

find out exactly what's there. And you wouldn't do that unless the

cyst/nodule is causing a problem or looks like cancer or an infection.

Hi .

     You are so right.  I had regular xrays and MRI xrays of my foot

nodule, and the biopsy is the only way to tell what it is.  Mine was indeed a

RA nodule.

    Hope you are feeling alright.
