Perhaps the knees last longer? I know 17 years was great, especially given my activity level. I was working fulltime and doing step aerobics. So I'm thankful for those years. Now though with the 3rd one on the same knee they are saying less than 5 years because there is not as much good bone to work with. That's why I'm hoping to find someone else that has gone through this. And speaking of being there. Exercise is important, but, step aerobics, running or any other pounding activity is just crazy if you have a knee replacement..I was acting crazy. They have their limitations. And now with more younger people having the procedure it isn't a lifelong solution as it is with a person in their 70's who are sedentary. So, my unsolicited advise is to take care of it if you have one, and, put off getting one until you absolutely can't stand the pain or the affect on your quality of life.
