Guest guest
Hi Jill: We just never know what pain a new day will bring! I had Sciatica problems after a car accident. My pain would radiate down my leg to below my calf. It was worse than a charlie horse. It was often worse after arising from a sitting position. The Deep Pain Thrombosis is usually a blood cot, which is very painful. I had my calf tested before at the hosp. and thank God, it wasn't that. I would see your Dr. just to have it checked out, and see if he/she can find the cause of it. It is better to be safe, than sorry. I hope you feel better soon. It took quite some time to find the right drug combo and dosage, but in May of this year I FINALLY found some relief! It wasn't perfection, but it was bareable and hardly an issue. , right? Well, about 3 weeks ago things started to go down hill. I'm no where near as bad as I was in the past, but clearly I am regressing. One of the things that always baffles my mind is how the RA spreads to different areas. I've had it in my neck (the worst, by far), wrist, hands, ankles, knees, jaw... anyway, right now... it's so weird that I almost am not sure it's the RA. It is kinda like my calf muscle and up to the back of my thigh. I mostly feel it after getting up from a seated position. It almost feels like a charlie horse. Weird right? It is not a joint, but the muscle. I can rub it and feel it is definitely the muscle that is sore. So... I had a flashback to the days I was on birth control pills, and remembered something called Deep Vein Thrombosis, where you get sharp pains up the back of your legs. I looked it up and it is kinda vague, so I am not really sure it is that either... I'm just saying it to see if this is a common side effect of RA meds or something. Thought I'd run this by the group. Does anyone else get this? Should I go to my doctor (I have appt on Oct. 17th) > > Thanks in advance!! > > Take care and wishing us all pain free days!!!! > > Jill > Jill I am not a doctor but if you think you may have a DVT you should go to your doctor asap. this also could be you sciatic nerve some times that nerve will cause more pain down the leg then in the back and that also needs attention rather quickly . not trying to scare you just hope you feel better. best wishes northern Michigan
