Guest guest
It's about that time! For those that may not know or have forgotten, Thursday I will be having an abdominoplasty, mastopexy w/ gel implants and a bilateral brachioplasty. I'm expected to be " under " for 9 to 9 1/2 hours and in recovery for a few hours. I've had my pre-op physical, CXR, EKG, bloodwork and a baseline mammogram. Got my prescriptions for Keflex, Percocet and Ativan filled. As for post-op clothes, I went out and bought several sleeveless button down shirts and scrub pants. I have about 12 down king pillows, a down body pillow and a heat/massage recliner waiting for me when I come home. The plan is to stay overnight and then come home. My PS wants me to stay as little as possible in the hospital since there is greater risk for a hospital-acquired infection (nosocomial infection), though I will not be on the general med/surg floor but instead will be on the floor they refer to as " the VIP suites " - king size bed in which Bill (my SO) will sleep on in my private room and the nursing to patient ratio is 2:1. Two nurses (one RN and a LPN) to one patient...so I should be in good hands. I've already demonstrated to the housekeeper and nanny how to prepare my protein drinks the way I like them served and the frequency they are to FORCE me to drink them (translation: wake me up from my drugged state....lol), shown where all the yummy broth (ugh) and jello mixes are that I bought over the weekend when they were off and how much water they are to ensure I drink daily. Next time you hear from me will probably be after surgery. Take care, O Lap Prox RNY 5-3-99 Wittgrove Abdominoplasty/Mastopexy w-gel implants/Brachioplasty 7-6-00 Grossman 5'9 337/175/150-
