Guest guest
Hi all, Wondering if anyone here has used Salazopyrin, and if so, how do you find it? Does it help your RA symptoms? Does it have bad side effects for you? My rheumy prescribed it for me today but I'm not sure yet whether I'll take it. Apparently I need to try this before I can go on biologics.... biologics are only an option if this doesn't work. Cheers, Soni
Guest guest
Hi, I was diagnosed with RA 5 months ago and started taking Prednisolone straight away and started Sulfasalazine a month later. I am on it for 4 months now and I am pain free after about 2.5 months. I am still tapering off Prednisolone though at 2.5mg every other day. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Thanks, Rose. I guess you don't know which of the drugs is making you feel better, though, right? Soni
Guest guest
Dear Soni, Yes, you're right. Although during the months before sulfasalazine started to kick in, each drop in prednisolone dosage comes with corresponding increased aches. I would have completely stopped my pred now but I am in the middle of radiotherapy for a benign brain tumor, so I had to keep it that way for now until I finish the rads. Luckily, RA seems like it was in a different lifetime now. Hope the luck continues.
