Guest guest
What about ginger, tumeric, fish/flax oil? Couldn't hurt to talk with the doc about some NSAIDS or even some daily predisone. Kate F ________________________________ From: skiplw284 <skiplw284@...> Sent: Wed, September 1, 2010 10:28:41 AM Subject: [ ] Enbrel and Rabies shot  > Anyone ever have to take Rabies shots? > > We are staying in our summer home. Guest guest
I've never had to take rabies shots, but I have had a bat in the house, years ago. We managed to knock him down with a broom and put him outside. Yesterday I had quite an adventure. I went from the den into the kitchen, and when I headed back to the den, what do I see in my path but a SNAKE! My husband was not at home, so I didn't have the option to scream and go running out of the house. I knew that I had to get him out of there. I didn't have anything to chop his head off with, which would have been my first choice. I thought of the wet mop I had hung in the nearby closet and grabbed it. I put it on top of the snake and pushed him against the wall. All the time he was of course struggling to get free. I maneuvered along the wall to the door and then ushered him out. Thank goodness! He had nearly given me a heart attack! I take fish oil tablets and sprinkle ground flax seeds on my salads, hoping that will be good for something. Maybe your RA will take a vacation while you discontinue the Enbrel. I took a 3-week vacation from Enbrel, and my RA behaved itself. Good luck with the rabies shots. Guest guest
Rabies shots are reportedly very painful….I believe it is the shot itself that is painful (in the abdomen)…ask if you can use emla cream for an hour prior to each injection in an attempt to make it less painful….. Guest guest
Nope - the shots are not anymore painful than a regular injection. The shots are not in the stomach (wives tale is what we found out). Shots are in the arm. My arm is sore but i don't need medication for the shot pain. So far we are doing well. Just nervious about being off of med sfor such a long time. Thanks everyone, Skip > > Rabies shots are reportedly very painful….I believe it is the shot itself that is painful (in the abdomen)…ask if you can use emla cream for an hour prior to each injection in an attempt to make it less painful….. > > Deb RN >
Guest guest
The shots WERE given in the abdomen for 20 days…they were given into abdominal fat as they stuck around…..not an old wives tale..when I was in nursing school and got out and worked ER…they were still doing this 20 years ago….
