Guest guest
OK so.. I've been (trying) to eat intuitively for like two weeks now. i haven't weighed myself in the process (HUGE for me) but for the most part I've been feeling and looking (at least in my eyes) a lot better. i have a few dilemmas though: my stomach never growls. i keep waiting for hunger to strike and my stomach just never growls. the only way i know, or at least think i'm hungry is when my stomach kind of aches. i know in the book they say its normal and all that stuff.. but whos stomach NEVER growls?! it makes it hard for me to gauge when i'm hungry also, im in college, which means eating automatically follows at least some kind of schedule. mostly, that means im fine in the morning when i'm in my apartment, but once i get off campus and i'm not at home, hunger strikes and i'm empty handed!! or the things i brought aren't satisfying. so i resort to vending machine poptarts and bags on m & ms (ohhh i love m & ms... lol) how do you guys combat this?? last one: i never craved chocolate like i do now. its intense. it might be because i'm getting my period, but i haven't gone a day without chocolate!! has anyone else experienced this? i'm sorry to bug you all with my questions, i just want to know that other people have or are going through what i'm going through.. its so hard this journey, i just wanna make sure i'm doing it right. thanks x
Guest guest
Hi , A big part of IE (and living intuitively overall) is learning to trust your body. Believe me when I tell you that you are not " wierd " because your stomach doesn't growl; nor are you " wierd " or odd in some way because you have craved chocolate for many days in a row. There are helpful " guidelines " , so to speak, for IE'ing, but it's very much a process that you learn to make work for you. As long as you are listening to your body, trust that you are on your right path. Trust your body, trust the IE process. Also, there will be times when you don't have access to the food you would most prefer at the moment, but that is okay; it has helped me to realize that not every eating experience will be wonderful and perfect. Sometimes when I don't have a lot of food options, I have a meal that satisfies my hunger, but that isn't all that exciting tastewise. Trust that you will enjoy many more meals where you will get to eat exactly what you crave when you crave it. > > OK so..
