general vaccine question

Hi group!  I saw my rheum today and, duh, forgot to ask her about my DTaP.  I am

due for a booster.  I vividly remember that my last dose was in 8/99 when I

joined the Navy.  Does anyone know how this works with the biologics?  I thought

I'd try to get the skinny before calling her office.  I know that biologics +

live vaccines are tricky, but I wondered if they might recommend taking Enbrel

(day 1), getting the DTaP on day 7 as it's wearing off and then taking Enbrel

again, late, say on day 10.  That's how I did it with my flu shot this year.  I

guess my FP doc could also draw titers and see if I really need them or if my

immunity is still strong.  Hmmmm ...  Any ideas?  Kate F

I haven't ever had a booster shot, as far as I can remember. I did get

a tetanus shot last year at my rheumy's office because I realized it

had been ages since I had one. I am on Enbrel, and there was no

problem with the shot. When I get a flu shot, I just continue on with

my usual schedule with Enbrel.
