Guest guest
I got my bloodwork back recently and it seems that I am slightly anemic. For now, my Rheumy has put me on a multi-vitamin with iron. I've read the other posts regarding iron deficiencies and having to have transfusions. Is this all part of the RA process or is it the meds that are causing us all to become anemic? This really frightens me as I have never in my life been anemic. HELP!!..... Guest guest
Hi Doreen.     I always had great blood and no issues with it. Since having been diagnosed with RA, I have had 3 transfusions, and taken high Iron vitamins for a year each time. It is due to the RA and our immune system is taxed by it. I didn't know how run down my blood was. I thought I was very tired due to the RA. I now pay close attention to how I am feeling. I felt so much better after each transfusion and taking the iron pills. My doctors do monitor my blood level to make sure I am not anemic again.     Sorry you are having this problem. It just gets frustrating when something else is going on in our bodies. I hope you feel better soon.  Hugs,  Barbara From: Mimi <mimi212@...> Subject: [ ] Iron Deficiencies?
