Guest guest
Hello all. As part of preparation for my neck surgery I had to have a check up with my general practioner. I saw him today and he wished me luck with my surgery. I asked why he said that and he said " you know neck surgery is a crap shoot " . I asked what he meant and he said that sometimes people are worse afterward than before. He asked if I would sign a release so he could see my mri before surgery. Of course, I did. Now I'm worried. Is he concerned that this doctor is just operating to be operating? I can't imagine pain being worse than it is now and I can't live the rest of my life with this pain without becoming an addict on pain pills. Does anyone have any experience with having discs replaced?
Guest guest
OK!!! OMG!!! I've been having the stomach bug all day and haven't responded to most posts today (sorry!!!!) BUT oh my Lord - !!!!!!!!!!! I have no experience with what you are going thru and let me say all of this quickly ....... No professional medical person would made that kind of comment. I don't know your details and may not have read them yet if you've already posted. I've kinda been skimming - but I'd first question the caliber of your PCP - & if the surgery is several days/ weeks off, I'd be checking & asking the credentials of both physicians. I would also ask to see the surgeon BEFORE surgery date and ask him your concerns. Maybe my head is in a fog but to me - that was absolutely unprofessional for that doc to make THOSE type of comments.
