In a nut shell this is what is going on to date.My husband and I took our daughter last week to a Ped Endo at UCSF... The doctor makes a referral to GI. Then I call my daughters Nurse Case manager and she gives an Authorization to go to a new Pediatrician... We take Natasha to the Peds office on Tuesday 9am... She is very nice and speaks with us and proceeds to exam our baby. Spends at least 20 to 30 minutes listening to Natashas heart... My husband and I are panic stricken but do not want to alarm her. The doc proceeds to tell us she heres a murmur but is not sure if it is serious or not. Oh man.........I am out of breath just writing this. She writes orders for an Echo, EKG and Chest XRay.. Later that morning she calls us and asks us to bring Natasha back in they forgot to take her BP. Meanwhile the Nurse Case manager says Natasha should be seen by a Cardiologist Pediatric specialist at UCSF... The saga continues.. Well, We take her back for the BP and I have my Mom with me... She comes in the room, they do a BP in both arms and legs. The doc comes in and spends another 20 minutes listening to Natasha. My Mother is hysterical.. We do not really know what is going on yet,,, she did get a Chest Xray and an EKG,,, no one up here can do a child her size for Echo and she will have to have it done at UCSF that is 60 miles away... Lucky for us, they are all on the ball and the Cardio Peds specialist is coming up to our neck of the woods on Tuesday next week to see our daughter. Also, tomorrow at 9am her Pediatrician wants to see the films... The Xray doc says Natasha has an enlarged heart. Also on Thursday next week she will be going to Gastro Specialist. Needless to say this is a totally exausting us. But coping ok so far. She got scared today. I just held her and reasured her that I wont let anything happen to her. Now just wait and see. Thanks for letting me vent. Ana (mother of Natasha, 3 1/2 years old, 25 lbs and 33 inches. Undiagnosed) >>
